The new agreement replaces an existing license agreement originally signed between Intel and Mostek Corporation in 1977. STMicroelectronics, Inc., the U.S. subsidiary of STMicroelectronics, NV, eventually acquired Mostek's rights through a series of merger and acquisition transactions.
