The Federal Court ruled that the Government may proceed with amendments under the Migratory Birds Regulations permitting a special spring season when hunters may take overabundant snow goose populations. The amendments, as announced by Environment Canada on March 25, 1999, authorize hunters to take two species which are currently overabundant - the Greater Snow Goose and the Lesser Snow Goose.
