M2 PRESSWIRE-15 June 1999-GM: AM General Corporation assumes 6.5 liter diesel business from GM Powertrain (C)1994-99 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:110699 AM General Corporation and GM Powertrain today announced an agreement whereby AM General will assume GM Powertrain's 6.5 liter Diesel engine business.

Under terms of the agreement, AM General, headquartered in South Bend, Indiana, will take over production of the 6.5 liter Diesel engine as GM Powertrain's plant in Moraine, Ohio, phases out production of that engine next year. GM Powertrain will assist AM General in starting the project and validating the assembly process.
