M2 PRESSWIRE-24 August 1999-ACA: Australian Communications Authority informs Queensland about closure of the analogue network (C)1994-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:230899 According to the Australian Communications Authority, the analogue mobile phone network will close in Brisbane, Redcliffe, Caboolture, Ipswich, Noosa Heads, the Gold Coast and some parts of the Sunshine Coast on 31 December 1999.

Some of the regional areas where the network will close on 31 December 1999 are Toowoomba, Wallangarra, Roma, Miles and Chinchilla.
