PAUL -- Northwest Airlines and its Airlink partner, Mesaba Airlines, today announced new regional jet service between Bloomington, Ill.
and its Detroit hub, effective May 1. The new regional jet service will utilize the airline`s new 69-passenger Avro RJ85 aircraft. Previously, Northwest Airlink served Bloomington exclusively with 34-seat Saab 340 turboprop aircraft. Northwest Airlines currently is the only U.S. regional carrier with a two-class cabin on its regional jets.
