M2 PRESSWIRE-23 June 2000-ATA: Air cargo traffic continues to grow strongest; Growth in international cargo (C)1994-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:22062000 Washington, D.C. -- The Air Transport Association (ATA) announced today that cargo traffic increased 7.4 percent in April, over the same period in 1999.
International cargo jumped again, by 13 percent, with a smaller increase for domestic cargo at 2.4 percent. Cargo traffic includes mail, freight and express. System-wide freight and express cargo grew in April, increasing 7.8 percent. Domestic freight and express increased steadily by 2.1 percent, while international continued to grow at a stronger pace, with a 13.6 percent leap.
