M2 PRESSWIRE-11 August 2000-Indian Government: US $713 million for three World Bank assisted infrastructure projects in India (C)1994-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:11082000 India and World Bank signed three agreements today for assistance towards three infrastructure projects. These are: the Third National Highway Project; the Telecom Sector Reform Technical Assistance Project and the Second Renewable Energy Project (SREP).

The total World Bank/ Global Environment Facility funding for these projects amount to US$ 713 million of which US$ 658 million is IBRD loan, US$ 50 million IDA credit and a GEF grant of US$ 5 million. The total cost of the Third National Highway Project, is estimated at US$ 650.00 million with a World Bank loan of US$ 516.00...
