M2 PRESSWIRE-8 September 2000-ADB: ADB donors agree to replenish Asian Development Fund (C)1994-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:08092000 Twenty-five donor member countries of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have agreed on a US$5.6 billion total replenishment of the Asian Development Fund, it was announced after the fifth and final donors' meeting in Okinawa, Japan, yesterday (7 September 2000).

ADF VIII, as the current replenishment is called, will cover the four-year period 2001 to 2004. The replenishment compares favorably with a total of $5.1 billion in loan approvals expected under ADF VII, covering the period 1997 to 2000. ADF loans are provided on concessional terms to ADB's poorer developing member countries with limited debt repayment...
