M2 PRESSWIRE-11 September 2000-ATA: International cargo traffic continues to grow; Domestic cargo decreases (C)1994-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:11092000 Washington, D.C. -- The Air Transport Association (ATA) announced today that cargo traffic increased 2.3 percent in July, over the same period in 1999.

International cargo grew 8.1 percent, but domestic cargo saw a fall of 3.2 percent. Cargo traffic includes mail, freight and express. System-wide freight and express cargo grew in July, increasing 2.6 percent. Domestic freight and express fell by 3.6 percent but this fall was offset by a 8.4 percent increase in international freight and express.
