M2 PRESSWIRE-2 November 2000-ATA: System-wide cargo traffic grew in August; International cargo traffic remains strong (C)1994-2000 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:01112000 Washington, D.C. -- The Air Transport Association (ATA) announced today that cargo traffic increased 3.8 percent in September, over the same period in 1999.

International cargo grew 8.7 percent, while domestic cargo fell a slight 0.7 percent in September. Cargo traffic includes mail, freight and express. System-wide freight and express cargo increased 3.9 percent in September. International freight and express grew 8.6 percent, while domestic freight and express declined 1.0 percent, from the same month a year ago.
