A work contract of Rs. 3.4 crore has been awarded and about 3.3 Km. length of the riverbed has already been desilted . The desilted materials are being transported and dumped in low-lying areas of NALCO township. The company has already sunk 40 tube-wells spending Rs. 18 lakh in the affected areas, as permanent source of potable water. Besides, funds have been provided for two new tanks.
