M2 PRESSWIRE-18 February 2002-NTT DOCOMO: 'NTT DoCoMo licenses i-mode to E-Plus' says WirelessEurope (C)1994-2002 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:18022002 NTT DoCoMo said it will license its i-mode, wireless internet access service, to Germany's E-Plus Mobilfunk. E-Plus Mobilfunk is scheduled to start the i-mode service in the March-April period, said DoCoMo.
E-Plus is a subsidiary of KPN Mobile, in which DoCoMo holds 15 per cent. The company will also retain the i-mode trademark. The licensing agreement is valid from February 18, 2002, to January 1, 2012, during which time E-Plus will pay fees to DoCoMo.
