M2 PRESSWIRE-5 February 2002-RAYTHEON: Raytheon to deliver advanced wide area augmentation system to the FAA for certification using Wind River`s VxWorks operating system (C)1994-2002 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:05022002 Wind River and Raytheon Company has announced that Raytheon is preparing to begin Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS) FAA acceptance testing.
WAAS uses Wind River`s Tornado for DO-178B development environment, which includes the VxWorks real-time operating system (RTOS). Following FAA acceptance Tornado for DO-178B and the rest of the WAAS system will be certified for commercial flight navigation use.
