M2 PRESSWIRE-31 January 2003-K-STATE: K-State Architecture Professor helps create proposal for World Trade Center site(C)1994-2003 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:01312003 MANHATTAN -- A Kansas State University architect participated in an eight-week Innovative Design Study during October and November 2002 for the rebuilding of the World Trade Center site.

Proposals were due in early December and made public Dec. 18. Robert Arens, associate professor of architecture, joined one of seven teams of architects, planners and designers who generated new ideas. Each team developed a creative plan for the site following guidelines set by the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation and the Port Authority of New York/New Jersey.
