M2 PRESSWIRE-14 February 2003-UK Government: New pig welfare code and pig welfare regulations introduced(C)1994-2003 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:02142003 A new pig welfare code is to be sent to all pig farmers following its successful passage through Parliament. The new, user-friendly code covers stockmanship, handling, health, housing and feed and water.

The pig welfare code provides guidance on the Welfare of Farmed Animals (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2003 (SI 2003 No 299), which have also been approved by Parliament and come into force today (Fri).
