M2 PRESSWIRE-12 February 2003-WORLD BANK: World Bank becomes PEPCO's largest purchaser of green power; Corporate Social Responsibility agenda in action(C)1994-2003 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:02112003 WASHINGTON -- As a result of its commitment to a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda, 10 percent of the World Bank Group's electricity usage in its Washington, D.C offices will now come from renewable energy sources.

The Bank will purchase "green power" from Pepco Energy Services (PES) through the Pennsylvania-New Jersey-Maryland (PJM) power grid which manages renewable energy generation facilities. PES has arranged to purchase six percent wind power from- "Community Energy" and four percent landfill gas/biomass from multiple vendors in the region....
