M2 PRESSWIRE-2 February 2005-UK Government: Roger Whitefield appointed to the Civil Aviation Authority(C)1994-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:02022005 Transport Minister Charlotte Atkins has appointed Roger Whitefield as a part-time non-executive Member of the Board of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) for five years.
The appointment comes into effect on 1 April 2005. The salary for the appointment is GBP37,500. Mr Whitefield succeeds David Lusher who will retire on 31 March 2005 after six years service on the Board. The CAA is responsible for the regulation of civil aviation in the United Kingdom and has specific responsibility for aviation safety, airspace policy, consumer protection and economic regulation.
