M2 PRESSWIRE-28 April 2005-OVUM: BT announces preferred suppliers for 21CN; Marconi missing(C)1994-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:28042005 BT made its much-awaited announcement this morning about its choice of suppliers for its 21st Century Network (21CN) programme, as follows: Fujitsu and Huawei for the access domain (multi-service access nodes - MSANs); Alcatel, Cisco and Siemens for metro IP nodes; Cisco and Lucent for core IP nodes; Ericsson for the "i-node" domain (ie softswitches and IMS); and Ciena and Huawei for the optical networking.
