M2 PRESSWIRE-9 June 2006-Viridian Group: Viridian Group Plc - update on nie transmission and distribution price control review(C)1994-2006 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:09062006 The Northern Ireland Authority for Energy Regulation (NIAER) today published a further consultation paper in connection with the five year price control to apply to the transmission and distribution (T&D) business of Viridian's subsidiary, Northern Ireland Electricity plc (NIE), with effect from 1 April 2007.

In December 2005 NIAER set out its initial proposals for T&D's price control for the fourth regulatory period (RP4). This was followed by a consultation period until 31 January 2006 and a review by NIAER's consultants of T&D's proposed capital expenditure of GBP326m(1) for RP4....
