(NYSE:ABX) on Tuesday sweetened its all-cash bid to acquire NovaGold Resources Inc. by 10 percent to $16 per share, or $1.7 billion, and said this represents its "best and final offer." NovaGold has been fighting the proposed takeover. In a separate statement Tuesday, the company advised shareholders to "take no action at this time."
