M2 PRESSWIRE-4 May 2007-WORLD BANK: World Bank Supports Avian Influenza Control and Human Preparedness and Response Project In Uzbekistan(C)1994-2007 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD RDATE:03052007 WASHINGTON - The Avian Influenza Advisory Board today approved a grant in the amount of US$2.96 million for Avian Influenza Control and Human Pandemic Preparedness and Response activities in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The grant was provided by the European Union through the Avian and Human Influenza Facility Trust Fund and will be administered by the World Bank. The Project will help strengthen the country's capacity to prevent the spread of avian influenza among poultry, prevent the transmission of avian influenza from birds to humans, and prepare for a potential pandemic...
