Troy, N.Y. -- Design optimization pioneer Achille Messac, professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, has been elected a fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA).
An award to commemorate this honor will be presented at an AIAA gala on May 14 in Washington, D.C.
