Precola Devore Parks, 72, who operated a charm school and modeling agency for black women in the District, died Jan. 17 after a brief illness. Miss Devore was born in Edgefield, S.C., and raised in Washington and New York City. She graduated from Cardozo High School in the District and attended Catholic University.
She studied at the Loradell School for professional models in New York City and completed graduate studies at the Livingston Academy. She promoted and produced fashion shows and beauty contests throughout the United States, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean in addition to operating the Precola DeVore School of Charm and the DeVore Modeling Agency. In the mid 1960s, Miss DeVore hosted "Charm School," a television show in the District....
