Cord Meyer's Aug. 29 commentary on global warming, "Climate, technology and trepidation," is more misleading than enlightening. From start to finish, his piece is inaccurate. He begins with the oft-repeated but false statement that 2,500 scientists make up the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
In fact, the IPCC includes government officials, social scientists, environmentalists, corporate employees and trade-association staff members, many of whom have no bona-fide credentials in the field of climate science. Mr. Meyer goes on to suggest that ...
