It is a finely tuned skill to tell the 2006 Celine & Laurent Tripoz Macon Loche from the 2005 Petite Chablis Domaine de Per-drycourt. Both are made from chardonnay grapes, but students in Washington Wine Academy's advanced certificate class are working to find the subtle differences.

They will find that the Petite Chablis is youthful, with overtones of apple, lemon and stone (yes, stone). The Macon is medium-bodied, with flavors of honey and melon.
