Blue ridge mountains

Grocer, Nov 28, 1998

Strathmore has extended its range of six low calorie Clear waters with a Mountain Blueberry variant.

The company is claiming to be the first leading clear brand to introduce a blueberry flavour.

Brand manager Finn O'Driscoll said: "Clears now account for 20% of the bottled water market and Mountain Blueberry is set to expand the sector because it is a highly fashionable, increasingly popular fruit flavour that offers a genuine and exciting point of difference."

Mountain blueberry, which is available from Food Brokers, joins the other variants -- hedgerow blackberry, cottage peach, country apple, meadow strawberry, garden raspberry and oriental mandarin. It is available in 500ml and 1.5 litre PET bottles.

The entire Strathmore portfolio including hints, sparkling and still waters will be supported with a 2m [pounds sterling] marketing campaign in 1999 including TV advertising, radio promotions, sampling and roadshows.
