Fresh herb growers are using new research to promote their produce as a natural cure for a range of complaints, including stress and high blood pressure.
The claims are based on work from Cardiff University that found basil, chives and coriander were effective. "Fresh herbs are full of flavonoids that are proven to assist with health complaints," said Tim Jacob at Cardiff's School of Biosciences. "Certain herbs contain compounds that can reduce blood pressure and stress-induced symptoms."
