The credit crunch shouldn't hold shoppers back from the odd romantic gesture, according to Morrisons.

This week it has started offering the 'Crunch Bunch'--a bunch of flowers for just 1 [pounds sterling]. The retailer wanted to ensure that even when the cost of living was at an all-time high, customers could still treat themselves, said senior flower buyer Joe Appleyard

The bouquet selected is a "simple but beautiful arrangement" including chrysanthemums, gerberas and a palm leaf.
