Hoteliers proclaim food, beverage person of year at awards fete

Jeff Leidy, executive chef at the San Diego Convention Center, was named 2007 Food and Beverage Person of the Year at the 29th Annual Gold Key Awards held at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina on Feb. 28 sponsored by the San Diego County Hotel-Motel Association and the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International. He won Ocean Spray's 2007 Ultimate Cranberry Recipe of the Year competition with his cranberry mojito and subsequently donated his $25,000 cash price to Becky's House, the local YMCA's residential program for victims of domestic violence.
