Billy Foster formed the company as Interstate Management & Accounting Ltd. in 1991 -- hence the letter "I" in their Web site address -- www.imal.net. The company incorporated in 2002; that same year, Foster's eldest son John joined IMA as a coowner, handling the tech side of the company.
