The American Red Cross recognized volunteers at its annual recognition event on April 19. The chapter's highest honor, the Cabrillo Award, was presented to Chula Vista resident Bernice Heiter for 35 years with the blood pressure clinic. Each year this award is presented to the volunteer who has demonstrated remarkable service to the Red Cross, along with leadership.
