Sherm Harmer of Urban Housing Partners Inc. will receive the 2008 Father of the Year Award presented by the American Diabetes Association and Father's Day Council of San Diego. Harmer is a 35-year veteran of the homebuilding industry, and serves as chairman of the Downtown Residential Marketing Alliance and the Downtown San Diego Partnership. Other recipients include Sam Hardage of the Hardage Group; Craig Irving of Irving Hughes Inc.; and Bryan Min of Epsilon Systems Solutions Inc. The fathers were selected based on their ability to balance their personal and professional lives and to serve as a role model for their children while making positive contributions within their communities.
