Panel doles out grant to improve energy efficiency in lodging industry

San Diego Business Journal, July 14, 2003 by Connie Lewis

Conserving Energy: The California Energy Commission last month awarded a grant of nearly $400,000 for a project aimed at improving energy efficiency in the state's lodging industry.

The funds will be administered by the Sacramento-based California Hotel & Lodging Association, through its one-year Energy Savings Program, which offers members financial assistance to upgrade energy control systems and conduct energy audits.

The association counts 1,600 properties with about 200,000 rooms in hotels, motels, resorts, and inns across California.
