Beach to benefit from $56m project
San Diego Business Journal, Nov 19, 2007 by Brad Graves
A $56 million beach-sand replenishment effort here is among the projects authorized by the water resources bill passed by the U.S. Senate on Nov. 8.
The bill made history because it marked the first time Congress overrode one of President Bush's vetoes. The $23 billion bill authorizes projects undertaken by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Congress has yet to pass a companion appropriations bill to let the federal government move forward with the sand replenishment project.
