J Walcher Communications managing PR for Stu Segall Productions' new Studio Diner

San Diego Business Journal, Feb 10, 2003 by Connie Lewis

A Stu Segall Production: Jwalcher Communications of San Diego will manage public relations for the opening of Studio Diner, a 1940s-style restaurant slated for opening in late March at 4705 Ruffin Road on the lot of Stu Segall Productions -- San Diego's only motion picture and television studio.

The opening also represents Segall's entry into the restaurant business, said Jean Walcher, president of JWalcher Communications.

Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Construction on the 3,000-square-foot restaurant began in December. There will be seating for 94 inside and an additional 40 on an exterior deck.

When it is open, the Studio Diner will give stargazers and clientele a chance to "rub elbows with the stars and crews of Stu Segall Productions shows," Walcher said.

The menu will include a variety of fare from hamburgers to prime cuts of meat and fresh fish.

Since its 1991 beginning, Stu Segall Productions has produced almost 600 hours of prime-time television series and feature films, Walcher said.
