What the?

Arkansas Business, April 9, 2007 by Nate Hinkel

The problem with compressing an entire news story into a cutline was illustrated Wednesday in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette's "The Nation In Brief" column. The Associated Press photo shows representatives of the Great Ape Trust holding two trumpeter swans, and the caption ended with this baffling statement: "A group of apes called bonobos will name the swans, whose offspring will be released in the wild."

The complete AP story explained that bonobos "have sophisticated language skills" and will "either use a board that has symbols the apes associate with objects or choose names from a list researchers provide."
