HealthScope benefits buys foresight TPA of El Paso

HealthSeope Benefits Inc. of Little Rock has bought Foresight TPA of El Paso, Texas.

Access Plans USA Inc., parent company of Foresight, said it sold the subsidiary to HealthScope, a health management firm, in a deal that closed Dec. 31. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Access Plans said it is selling the unit to exit the third-party administration market.

Joe K. Edwards, CEO of HealthScope, said the company will maintain a "significant presence in El Paso.

Access Plans distributes health insurance products to individuals and families. HealthScope is a full-service claims administration and health management firm that provides administrative and other support services to self-funded employers.

HealthScope has offices in Little Rock; Columbus, Ohio; Indianapolis, Ind.; Los Angeles; Nashville, Tenn.; St. Louis; and San Marcos, Calif. It has about 300 employees.
