Simon Group in China deal

Simon Property Group of Indianapolis last week announced a deal with Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds and SZITIC Commercial Property Co. Ltd., the property subsidiary of Chinese state-owned trust and investment firm Shenzhen International Trust & Investment Co. Ltd., to develop six or seven shopping centers in China.
Simon owns University Mall in Little Rock and McCain Mall in North Little Rock.
The first project will be a 500,000-SF mall in Hangzhou, a city of 6 million outside of Shanghai, one of the richest regions of the country. Its projected cost is between $65 million and $70 million.
Each of Simon Property's shopping centers will be anchored by Wal-Mart. Other shopping centers it develops in China will run 430,000 SF to 750,000 SE
