ConAgra Foods Inc. of Omaha continues its transition from an agriculture to packaged foods company by selling its farm supply business, United Agri Products, to a private group led by management and a New York-based investment firm, Apollo Management, for $600 million in cash and securities. United Agri, based in Greeley, Colo., produces seeds, fertilizers, pest and weed inhibitors and horticultural supply products.

It posted annual sales of approximately $2.5 billion in its latest fiscal year.
