The Arkansas Energy Office is sponsoring a day-long Arkansas Wind Energy Conference on Jan. 17 at the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith that will look at Arkansas' future energy needs and the use of commercial and private wind turbines to capture the power of wind and convert it to electricity.
Keynote speaker Larry Flowers of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory will discuss global and national trends for wind energy.
