Discrimination Lawsuit Hits State Farm In Texas Seven women have filed suit in Houston, Texas, against State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co. and three affiliates alleging discrimination against Texas women, blacks and Hispanics in selecting agents, claim adjusters and underwriters. The June 22 lawsuit named State Farm Fire & Casualty Co., State Farm General Insurance Co., and State Farm Life Insurance Co., all affiliates of the Bloomington, Ill.-domiciled State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Co.

"We are confident of our ability to defend our operations in Texas," said a State Farm representative, Jim Stahly, in an interview. "We believe we employ as large a representation of women and minorities in Texas as does any other company operating there."...
