MAISONPIERRE JOINS AIA AS CONSULTANT Andre Maisonpierre, who recently retired as president of the Reinsurance Association of America, has joined the Washington, D.C.-based American Insurance Association as a consultant. "These are critical times for trade associations, and AIA does a great deal more than just react and respond to a crisis.

AIA seeks to correct affirmatively the problems confronting the industry," said Mr. Maisonpierre, who was president of RAA since 1984. Prior to his tenure with RAA, he was senior vice president of the Alliance of American Insurers, where he was directly responsible for the Washington activities of the association.
