GUS--`Underwriting Workstation Of The Future' Two information units of Insurance Services Office have teamed with a pair of computer technology firms to develop a new, automated "underwriting workstation of the future." ISO Commercial Risk Services Inc. and ISO Telecommunications (ISOTEL) recently signed a letter of intent with EDS Corp.
and Datamap Inc. to build a system designed to electronically provide underwriters with risk classification and rating data on specific properties. GUS, or Geographic Underwriting System, will meld high-speed telecommunications with computerized hazard and classification factors on individual risks, according to ISO.
