Insurers Mark 5-Year Partnership Transamerica Insurance and the K&K Insurance Group recently marked the fifth anniversary of an exclusive arrangement between the two companies in the handling of special events insurance coverage. Under the arrangement, the two firms write coverage for sports and leisure events, from "race cars to county fairs to the National Basketball Association," said Mike Grady, senior vice president/special risk department for Transamerica, based in Woodland Hills, Calif.

Insurance covers the liability of the event, with limits of up to $50 million, with flexible, and typically low, deductibles, Mr. Grady said. The agreement with K&K began with coverage of motor sports, and has "expanded considerably over the five years," he...
