AIA Moves To Modify McCarran Act WASHINGTON - The American Insurance Association is developing a proposal to modify the industry's McCarran-Ferguson antitrust immunity. AIA President Robert E. Vagley said that the effort will attempt to address the concerns of McCarran-Ferguson critics while at the same time protect the industry's "essential business interests." He told a press briefing that the Washington-based AIA is currently working on a precise definition of "essential business interests." However, Mr.
