WASHINGTON--The chairmen of the tax-writing House Ways and Means and Senate Finance Committees have introduced two similar pension simplication and access bills. These pension simplification measures are designed to make it easier for small employers to provide pensions to their employees.

House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dan Rostenkowski, D-Ill., introduced the Pension Access and Simplification Act of 1991, one day ahead of a bill introduced in the Senate by Finance Committee Chairman Lloyd Bentsen, D-Texas, the Employee Benefits Simplification and Expansion Act.
