Insurers Sue N.C. Politician Over Fire In Tobacco Barn A leading North Carolina politician has resigned his post in the wake of arson allegations surrounding a fire at his tobacco warehouse. James C. Green Sr., 70-year-old former North Carolina lieutenant governor and former speaker of the North Carolina House of Representatives, has resigned his $68,000-a-year post as a special adviser to North Carolina Governor James G.
