New Software Streamlines Automobile Repair Process A new compact disc-based collision repair estimating tool promises to significantly shorten the vehicle repair cycle, benefiting insurers and body shops alike. Introduced in December at the National Auto Body Congress and Exposition in Las Vegas by Automatic Data Processing Inc., Audatex Shoplink allows repair shops to receive estimate assignments from insurers and return completed estimates via modem, said ADP.
Through an optional feature, an estimator can videotape several images of a damaged vehicle, store them in a digitized format and include the images as an actual component of an estimate file, according to Linda Williams of ADP.
