TO THE EDITOR: In a recent "Another Perspective," University of Wisconsin Sociology Professor Gregory Squires suggested that insurance redlining practices exist in Milwaukee and other major cities and are causing deterioration of those communities. (See NU, Nov. 22, 1993, page 15.) While I am not familiar with the rest of the country, I know something about the availability and affordability of homeowners insurance in Milwaukee, and wish that Professor Squires would have examined the data before he made his claim.
