NEW ORLEANS, La.--Grassroots lobbying--including personal letters, phone calls and face-to-face visits--is the most effective way for agents and insurers to impact the legislative process, the National Association of Insurance Women were told at their annual meeting here. Letter writing is one of the most effective ways to reach and influence members of Congress, according to Pamela Allen, vice president of federal affairs for the Indianapolis, Ind.-based National Association of Mutual Insurance Companies.
